Lambert & Fils is a lighting studio in Montreal, Quebec, prototyping and assembling its fixtures in its own atelier.
Lambert & Fils is a lighting studio in Montreal, Quebec. Samuel Lambert opened the atelier in 2010 and still runs it. The studio assembles every fixture there by hand, in the middle of the city.
The studio works mostly in lighting, and Lambert builds the fixtures around voids and volume as much as around the bulb. A smaller line of objects sits alongside them.
Lambert & Fils prototypes in-house and works out its own manufacturing methods. No drawing goes out to a factory to wait on someone else's answer. The studio draws and assembles at one address, and the lamps are made in Canada.
The studio built its own LED to hold the warmth of incandescent light. It is a narrow thing to care about, and we take it as a fair signal of how the rest of the work gets done.

Materials and process
The studio keeps a material library and developed its own LED system to hold the colour of warm incandescent light. Prototyping happens in-house.
